Objective and Benefits

Hoverlay is a service that enables anyone to easily create and share an augmented/mixed reality experience, by associating digital assets (files, videos, photos, text and URLs) and interactive objects (click-to-tweet, rating panel, surprise packages) to physical places and objects. Each augmented reality experience are organized in layers, akin to a radio station: any user using the hoverlay app can “tune” to that layer, and uncover those objects either on a 3D map, or through augmentation from the camera feed.

Editors of the hoverlay app can create objects using their phone, using the web application, or via the platform API. Users use the hoverlay app to uncover and interact with objects to either get to the embedded link by clicking, collect the underlying asset, or give feedback (for instance, clicking on a star rating). Other actions will be added in the future.
